Guys, I am just speechless. I was browsing through the depths of the internet looking for a video that might help me out on teaching classes for you that might show a little bit of what -I think - is wrong with this thing called beauty industry and I came up with this:
I am particularly not against the use of make up, I actually think it has historical value and its ritual can somehow bring a somewhat empowerement to women by being able to control, in a way, the way they look (but that is another topic, lemme focus back on track) but I don't really think such a pretty little girl who doesn't even know what a moisturizer is uses that much of makeup and is not able to use it as a pro, but also is encouraging other young girls to follow her steps. So, guys ,what do you think about that? What would you say if you could send this little girl a message(By the way, you can access her video on youtube and leave her a comment)?
Apparently, this video shows a simple makeup for girls by a little girl. For me, the biggest problem is on behind the background. The beauty industry sells a ideia that if you use makeups, you will look like more young, beautiful, attractive and sexy.
I think this idea doesn't help kids and teenagers to built your self image. They are learning since their childhood that always they will have anything, that won't be OK in them, even it is a simple thing. You always have to do anything to improve your appearance. In resume, the message is:''You have to looks like PERFECT all the time, don't accept "imperfections", it's not good."

I liked this video, because she is a little girl talking to other little girls. The eye shadows that she used are for kids for example (even that I do not agree with it too much). I understand that girls see her mothers and want to be like them and use her things (dress, shoes, make up...) but is difficult to me see a little girl whit a red lipstick!

I think that the use of make up is universal.. as a little girl as a woman like to use make up. This video looks like a tutotial realy created by this little girl, with her own ideias, and she dont looks want to be like a adult. She wants to teach kids how to use make ups, just. I don't see any problem with this. But I think that it would be wrong if she was trying to be like a aduld.
But it's true that the beauty indrusty can chance our vision about things... like a video that I founded. Actually, that is a video that shows the positive point of view od make ups...I'll try to post.
